Heba received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Structural Engineering in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Her primary interest lies in the field of structural engineering, dynamics and extreme loading. Her masters research was an experimental study on the performance of two-way concrete panels under impact loading. She is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering at McMaster University within the NSERC CaNRisk-CREATE program. Her Ph.D. research focus on the area of seismic probabilistic risk assessment of nuclear power plants, seismic fragility analysis and structural performance enhancement of the critical components. Also, she is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) McMaster University Student Chapter, Canadian Association for Earthquake Engineering (CAEE), Women in Nuclear Canada (WIN) Golden Horseshoe Chapter and Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS).
Research focus area:
Probabilistic risk assessment of NPP safety systems under vertical ground motion
