Ahmed finished his BSc. with main focus on Civil Engineering in 2012. As one of the top-ranked students in his program, Ahmed was hired as a teaching assistant in the water resources engineering area where he focused his Masters research on the use of remote sensing data for groundwater storage fluctuation assessment in aquifer systems. After obtaining his M.A.Sc. degree in 2015, Ahmed joined McMaster University where he is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering. His Ph.D. current research focuses on applying new techniques, such as synchronization analysis and evolutionary algorithms as well as other machine learning techniques, in the field of contaminant transport in groundwater systems.
